We will also be studying with Schwarzkopf again this year , They are offering some new look-see classes. We will fill you in on all the latest. Check back throughout the year.
December 2009 After 30 years of cut and color classes I felt this class would help to showcase some of the work we do at Salon Colour. It is my hope to get some of our work published this year and to reach out to a more visual media. The first day I rocked the hair in this class the second day I learned. Tyler was very gracious in sharing his knowledge and his class would be an asset to any stylist wanting to stay on top of their game .I was inspired to reach higher and my creative juices were ignited. The trend for 2010 is again soft sexy curl, more of a large finger wave if you would, loose braids not over done quick, easy sexy. There is a strong 40's influence in styling hair again this year lending to a much softer look. Gone is the flat hair ladies so let you locks and curl flow. We are also seeing Strong lines and asymmetrical cuts for short hair. The slick look and head bands are back for our younger ladies, oh so easy. The hot colors for the New Year are peroxide blonde, golden blonde, reds and lightened brows all in all we have a more glamour's look this year.....what fun December 2009 I would like to thank all of our clients for allowing us to help you look your best. We’ve had lots of growth this year and I thank you all for your patience during our growing pains. We have been very busy and have worked hard to give you the service we feel you deserve. As a team we have had 3 cut, color and product classes since June. In October we were part of a nationwide charity event, and we are now selling raffle tickets for our annual holiday charity. As we say farewell to yet another year I would like to acknowledge what a wonderful journey this has been and how blessed I feel to have the co-workers and clientele that I have .I look forward to another year of meeting your stylist needs Thank you and Happy New Year Many blessings Salon Colour Welcomes

Kathy attends
Schwarzkopf Train The Trainer program. This class is designed to help me
bring back color education to the staff at Salon Colour. I will be updated
with Schwarzkopf educator Jill Turnbull 4 times a year in an 8 hour class.
This allows us to train on all new color made available with Schwarzkopf as
well as new products from OSIS, and March 2008 Kathy attends Graham Webb Academy's 2 day hands on advanced color class. This class focused on advanced color placement and corrective color principals and techniques. After years of color classes there is always something new to learn or something old to tweak, though I wasn't sure at 1st this class proved to be fabulous . Day 1 we worked on using foil placements to enhance or distract from facial features as well as Balage, Block color, Dual highlighting,Wet on Wet and back to Back foiling. we worked on a few foil on part techniques:Chevron, Zipper and Sunburst. Day 2 - What fun corrective color I love this stuff ! from color removal to decoloring I enjoyed making blue hair a beautiful warm blonde while maintaining the hairs integrity. Got green, black, pink, blue we fixed it all!! From mild to extreme corrective color this class reinforced as well as enhanced my ability to meet each corrective color need. February 24-25 2008 Susan attends the Graham Webb Academy for more advanced training in Classic cutting II Taught by veteran international educator Sarah Leonard. This class reiterated the emphasis on disciplines of haircutting while demonstrating new shapes & techniques. This hands on class taught stylist how to expand their repertoire based on client needs by choosing the right tool for different hair types and achieving the perfect personalized style January 2008 Fun at the Beach After a day of education we had lots of laugh's and relaxation What a great time we all had !!! The staff is very pleased that we have brought Sexy back in salon, as talented professionals they felt this product could assist them and their clientele in achieving the movement and texture that are currently in fashion. Monday We all attended hands on classes. Susan worked with J Beverly Hill's where they concentrated their efforts on the elimination of weight in the hair thru different texturizing methods creating movement and shape .They also worked on personalizing every cut to suit your individual face shape and your personal hair needs. Kathy attended the Deva Curl workshop learning how to keep the moisture curly hair needs to respond its best. This class offered dry cutting curly hair, this allows for the natural spring of the hair, which is lost when cutting with tension on wet hair. I found this class interesting and am currently working with some dry cutting technique's on curly hair as well as with Deva's sulfate free cleanser's. Yuko attended the Schwarzkopf cut and color workshop Using the new Vivance demi color line,.They worked on advanced color techniques that create color movement and depth. They also worked on a cut called the Dancer. This cut combines shattered layers with over direction and elevation creating lots of movement while maintaining length through the front of the hair cut. As always they found the educational team at Schwarzkopf to be wonderful hands on teachers with lot's of personal attention and step by step guidance in achieving this look in salon.
As always we
share the knowledge it was fun to dissect each person class room experience.
Yuko attended this hands-on cutting class where they were introduced to a new collection of trends for summer and fall. they concentrated on learning the REBEL ANGEL cutting concept this technique combines softness around the face and edgier angles/lines through the back and sides. this cut reflects the two sides of every woman sweet and safe with a little rebellion they found this class practical, fun and energizing April 30 2007 At Salon Colour we believe that continued education and improvement is essential to providing clients with the best possible level of service.
